Why is Sigi conical – how does it differ from a round knob?
The conical shape gives the knob a lighter look than a classic round form. The wider top provides a comfortable grip, while the narrowed base makes the model look more subtle on the front. This design works particularly well on smooth, matt fronts in a minimalist style.
Which Sigi colour should I choose for my furniture and interior style?
Gold works well on fronts in white, cream and dark green, where it creates a bold, classic accent. Brushed gold is a more muted option for modern and minimalist interiors – the matt brushed texture goes well with matt fronts and concrete worktops. Black Sigi is the choice for industrial and minimalist interiors – on white fronts it acts as a precise graphic point, while on dark fronts it creates a coherent, muted look. Black also pairs well with black taps and fittings and black window frames.
Is the 25 mm Sigi the right size for kitchen cupboards and chests of drawers?
Yes – a 25 mm top diameter with a height of 25 mm is a proportion that works well on standard kitchen cupboard fronts and doors of chests of drawers 40–60 cm wide. The conical body means the knob visually takes up less space than a bulkier model with the same diameter.
Can Sigi in brushed gold be combined with cabinet handles in the same finish?
Yes – Sigi in brushed gold goes well with handles in the same finish. It is a tried-and-tested combination: conical knobs on cupboard doors and handles on drawers let you keep a consistent colour while varying the form.
How do I fit Sigi and does it fit IKEA furniture?
Sigi is fitted using a single M4 hole: the screw passes through the front from the back and screws into the thread in the base of the knob. A fixing screw is included with each item. The knob is compatible with IKEA furniture that has a factory-drilled fixing hole (including the AXSTAD, ENKÖPING and BODARP series and other fronts with a hole for a knob). For fronts without a hole, simply drill one hole with a 4 mm drill bit at the chosen position on the front – fitting takes a few minutes and requires no specialist tools.
Does the Sigi knob fit standard cabinet fronts?
Yes, the knob is fitted using a single hole with an M4 screw, so it fits most standard cabinet fronts.
Can the colour vary from one item to another?
Yes, due to the natural character of the finishing coat (lacquered or anodised), the shade may vary slightly depending on the batch and the angle of the light. This applies especially to the brushed gold version, where the directional texture also affects how the colour is perceived.
How do I fit a handle on the front correctly?
We recommend using only a manual cross-head screwdriver to fit the handles. We advise against using electric screwdrivers, as too much torque can damage the thread or the coating of the handle. When planning where to fit the handle, it is worth allowing a gap of a few millimetres from the edge of the front. For large fronts or heavy drawers, we recommend keeping a gap of 1–2 cm from the edge, which makes them more comfortable to use and distributes the forces better.
