Luiz Cabinet Knob

What is the black with gold finish and how does it differ from a regular black finish?

The black with gold finish gives the surface a dark, muted colour while retaining a subtle metallic sheen. It differs from black lacquer in that the effect remains more metallic. With intensive use, the areas of greatest friction may change slightly over time, which is often seen as a natural feature of the surface.

Which Luiz size should I choose – 19.7 mm or 24.7 mm?

The 19.7 mm size is intended for narrow drawer fronts, delicate display cabinets and side cabinets, where a smaller piece keeps the right proportions. The 24.7 mm size works well on standard kitchen cupboards, chest of drawers fronts and bedside tables. If in doubt, 24.7 mm is the safer choice – on most fronts it looks more substantial and is more comfortable to grip.

Yes – the black with gold finish goes well with black bathroom taps and fittings. Both finishes stay within a similar tonal range, and the metallic character of the knob can complement the overall scheme in an interesting way. It is worth considering the overall style of the interior and the other finishing details.

How is the Luiz knob fitted and does it fit IKEA furniture?

Luiz is fitted using a single M4 hole: the screw passes through the front from the back and screws into the thread in the base of the knob. A fixing screw is included with each item. The knob is compatible with IKEA furniture that has a factory-drilled fixing hole. For fronts without a hole, you just need to drill a single hole with a 4 mm drill bit in your chosen spot – fitting takes a few minutes and requires no specialist tools.

Does the Luiz knob fit standard cabinet fronts?

Yes, the knob is fitted using a single hole with an M4 screw, so it fits most standard cabinet fronts.

Can the colour vary from one item to another?

Yes, owing to the natural character of copper and the finish (brushed gold or black with gold), the shade may vary slightly depending on the batch and the angle of the light.

How do I fit a handle on the front correctly?

We recommend using only a manual cross-head screwdriver to fit the handles. We advise against using electric screwdrivers, as too much torque can damage the thread or the coating of the handle. When planning where to fit the handle, it is worth allowing a gap of a few millimetres from the edge of the front. For large fronts or heavy drawers, we recommend keeping a gap of 1–2 cm from the edge, which makes them more comfortable to use and distributes the forces better.
