Palma Brass Cabinet Knob

How does a brass knob differ from the copper knobs available in the same range?

Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc – harder and more yellow-gold than pure copper. The colour of brass is warmer and more golden, while copper has a more pronounced red-brown undertone. For those who value a durable material and a warm metallic shade, brass is a very good choice.

Which Palma size should I choose – 25 mm or 30 mm?

Palma 25 mm works well on drawer fronts 30–50 cm wide and on bedside tables, where the knob is meant to be a discreet but clear accent. The 30 mm size is more visible and gives a more secure grip – recommended for kitchen cupboard doors, the fronts of chests of drawers and wider cupboards. If you plan to use both sizes in one space at the same time, Palma lets you keep the material consistent while subtly varying the scale of the detail.

Will brass Palma go well with gold-coloured bathroom taps and fittings?

It depends on the shade of the taps and fittings. Taps and fittings in a warm, brushed or more natural gold usually go well with brass. With a very cool or highly polished gold, the effect may be less coordinated. If in doubt, it is best to compare the knob with the taps and fittings in natural light.

Does Palma fit IKEA furniture, and how is it fitted?

Yes – Palma is fitted using a single M4 hole. On IKEA furniture with a factory-drilled knob hole, it can be fitted without any additional drilling. The fixing screw included passes through the front from the back and screws into the thread in the knob base. For fronts without a hole, you just need to drill one hole with a 4 mm drill bit.

How will Palma cope in the kitchen with daily contact with grease and moisture?

Brass is a material often used in kitchens and bathrooms because of its resistance to corrosion. Everyday traces of grease and moisture can be removed with a dry or slightly damp cloth. You only need to avoid prolonged contact with acids, such as vinegar or citrus juices, which can dull or damage the surface.

Does the Palma knob fit standard cabinet fronts?

Yes, the knob is fitted using a single hole with an M4 screw, so it fits most standard cabinet fronts.

Can the colour vary from one item to another?

Yes, the shade may vary slightly depending on the batch and the angle of the light.

How do I fit a handle on the front correctly?

We recommend fitting the handles with a manual cross-head screwdriver only. We advise against using electric screwdrivers, as too much torque can damage the thread or the surface of the handle. When planning where to fit them, allow a gap of a few millimetres from the edge of the front. For large fronts or heavy drawers, we recommend keeping a gap of 1–2 cm from the edge, which makes them more comfortable to use and distributes the forces better.
