Isla Brass Cabinet Knob

How does Isla differ from the Costa model – aren’t they both made of brass?

Both models are made of brass, but they differ in size. Costa is available in 20 mm and 25 mm sizes – these are smaller knobs for narrow drawer fronts and side cabinets. Isla comes only in a 32 mm size, which is more versatile and better proportioned for standard kitchen cupboard doors and the fronts of chests of drawers and bedside tables 40–60 cm wide. If you need a brass knob for larger fronts, Isla will be a good choice, and for smaller ones – Costa.

Is the 32 mm Isla knob well proportioned for kitchen cupboards?

Yes – 32 mm is one of the popular diameters for round cabinet knobs in kitchens. On standard upper and lower cupboard fronts 40–60 cm wide, this knob remains well proportioned – it is clearly visible and easy to grip, but does not dominate the whole front. On very narrow fronts below 30 cm it may visually overwhelm the front – in that case, Costa in the 20 or 25 mm size may be a better choice.

Can Isla be combined with cabinet handles in a gold finish?

Yes – Isla goes well with handles in a brushed gold finish. Bear in mind that brass usually has a warmer and deeper gold shade than surfaces finished in a gold colour. Even so, this combination can look coordinated and attractive. A popular pairing is Isla knobs on kitchen cupboard doors with handles on the lower drawers.

How is Isla fitted, and does it fit IKEA furniture?

Isla is fitted using a single M4 hole: the screw passes through the front from the back and screws into the thread in the knob base. A fixing screw is included with each item. The knob is compatible with IKEA furniture that has a factory-drilled fixing hole. For fronts without a factory-drilled hole, you just need to drill one hole with a 4 mm drill bit – the whole fitting takes a few minutes and requires no specialist tools.

Does the Isla knob fit standard cabinet fronts?

Yes, the knob is fitted using a single hole with an M4 screw, so it fits most standard cabinet fronts.

Can the colour vary from one item to another?

Yes, the shade may vary slightly depending on the batch and the angle of the light.

How do I fit a handle on the front correctly?

We recommend fitting the handles with a manual cross-head screwdriver only. We advise against using electric screwdrivers, as too much torque can damage the thread or the surface of the handle. When planning where to fit them, allow a gap of a few millimetres from the edge of the front. For large fronts or heavy drawers, we recommend keeping a gap of 1–2 cm from the edge, which makes them more comfortable to use and distributes the forces better.
